Who we are

We believe opportunity can change the direction of a life. We are a Christian nonprofit organization working alongside underserved communities to expand opportunity for children, young people, women, and families. Our story began in 2012 with a simple conviction: lasting transformation happens when people are given not only assistance for today, but opportunities to build a stronger tomorrow.
Since then, our work has grown around a community-centered approach that brings together education, clean water and sanitation, health and nutrition, vocational skills, innovation, livelihoods, and community development. We call it One Community at a Time.

Benjamin Musasizi’s educational journey commenced at Kamuli Boys Boarding Primary School, followed by St. Mark’s College in Namagoma and Naalya Senior Secondary School in Namugongo.

Rev. Dr. Patience Kisakye

Rev. Dr. Patience Kisakye was a remarkable clergy member whose life exemplified a profound dedication to theology, education, and community service.

Benjamin Musasizi

He earned his bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Uganda Christian University in Mukono. Currently, he is pursuing a postgraduate diploma in Film and TV Production at UCLA Extension and a Master of Divinity at Drew University.

Professionally, Benjamin has held diverse leadership roles, including founding the Divine Hearts Foundation (DHF) in Kampala in 2012, where he serves as Executive Director. Under his guidance, DHF has grown into a beacon of hope, particularly for vulnerable communities such as children with special needs. Benjamin previously served as the Communications & Brand Strategy Executive for the East Africa Episcopal Area of the United Methodist Church, overseeing branding, social media, and media production.

Apart from his nonprofit initiatives, Benjamin is the founder and Creative Director of Nesy Media LLC, a renowned media company headquartered in Washington DC, celebrated for its excellence in media production and innovation. Benjamin Musasizi’s life and career are dedicated to fostering positive change and empowering communities. His leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment continue to inspire others, making a lasting impact in Uganda and beyond.

Rev. Dr. Patience Kisakye

Originally from Uganda, she was recruited by the Anglican Church to support evangelism and church planting, marking the beginning of a journey that spanned continents and impacted countless lives.

Educationally, Rev. Dr. Kisakye achieved significant milestones. She earned her Doctor of Ministry in Practical Theology from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in 2010, following earlier degrees including a Master of Divinity from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts in Religious Communication from United Theological Seminary. Her academic foundation included a Diploma in Education focused on English Language and Literature, alongside African and European History. Professionally, Rev. Dr. Kisakye held diverse roles across church and educational settings. She started as a Chaplain and Teacher at Busoga College Mwiri in Uganda, later expanding her influence in the United States as a Chaplain at Bethany Methodist Home and serving various United Methodist Churches as Associate Pastor. Her leadership extended to advocacy for clergy benefits and social justice issues.

Community service was central to Rev. Dr. Kisakye’s life. She engaged extensively with initiatives promoting social change and leadership development, including roles with AmeriCorps and the Interactive Institute for Social Change. Her global advocacy efforts included participation in significant international conferences addressing women’s rights and sustainable development. Rev. Dr. Kisakye’s expertise was broad and impactful, encompassing Eucharistic Theology, conflict transformation, gender and disability mainstreaming, and advocacy for marginalized groups like indigenous women and individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Her visionary leadership was evident in strategic planning and evaluation across her diverse roles.

Her connectional experience bridged denominational boundaries and global partnerships, contributing actively to Ecumenical Advocacy Days and interfaith initiatives. Notably, she collaborated with her brother Benjamin Musasizi to strengthen the Divine Hearts Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities, particularly children with special needs. Rev. Dr. Patience Kisakye’s legacy is defined by her unwavering commitment to education, advocacy, and spiritual leadership. Her contributions within the United Methodist Church and through the Divine Hearts Foundation continue to inspire and empower communities worldwide. Her life’s work stands as a testament to the transformative power of service and compassion, leaving an enduring impact on those she served and the causes she championed.
