In a heartfelt event yesterday, Divine Hearts Foundation, in conjunction with the United Methodist Church of Iganga, held a significant community consultation and Thanksgiving prayer in Namunkanaga-Kigulu village. The event featured a sermon by Pastor Ayub Mugabi, who delivered an inspiring message on community unity and love.
Pastor Ayub’s sermon emphasized the importance of mutual support and love among community members, drawing parallels to the love Christ has for the church. He announced that by the grace of God, there are plans to establish a new church in Namunkanaga-Kigulu through the partnership between the United Methodist Church and Divine Hearts Foundation. This new church aims to serve as a spiritual haven and community center for the village.
The event’s primary objectives were to engage with community members, gather their feedback on the impact of Divine Hearts Foundation’s initiatives, and express gratitude for divine providence. During the consultation, the representatives from Divine Hearts country office Mugabi Joseph highlighted the significant contributions of the foundation’s leadership, the late Ephraim and his family, and the United Methodist Church in Uganda. Evelyn also encouraged children under the foundation’s sponsorship program to focus on their education and trust in God for a brighter future. The event concluded with a communal meal, generously sponsored by the office of Bishop Daniel Wandabula, the Bishop of the United Methodist Church in East Africa, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose among the attendees.
About Namunkanaga-Kigulu Village
Namunkanaga-Kigulu village is located in Iganga District, Eastern Uganda. This rural community is home to approximately 2,000 residents who primarily engage in subsistence farming. The village faces numerous challenges, including limited access to clean water, healthcare, and educational facilities. Poverty and lack of infrastructure further exacerbate the struggles of the residents.
Divine Hearts Foundation’s Impact
Divine Hearts Foundation has been a beacon of hope in Namunkanaga-Kigulu. Through its various programs, the foundation addresses critical needs such as education, healthcare, and clean water. In 2016, Divine Hearts Foundation & its global partners held a 6 day Mobile Clinic in this village an event that gave opportunity to the residents of this community to get medical checkups, learn more about general health care practices, and get free dental checkups and treatment. The foundation’s educational sponsorship program has enabled up to 13 children to attend school, offering them a chance for a brighter future. Additionally, initiatives to provide clean water and improve healthcare access have significantly enhanced the quality of life for the villagers.
The community consultation and Thanksgiving prayer held yesterday not only celebrated the progress made but also reinforced the commitment of Divine Hearts Foundation and the United Methodist Church to continue their mission of uplifting Namunkanaga-Kigulu village.
As the village looks forward to the establishment of a new church and ongoing support from these organizations, the spirit of unity and gratitude remains strong, promising a better future for all its residents.
