PROGRAM
Clean and Safe Water
More than 38 million people (83% of Ugand’s population) lack access to clean & safe water. As a result, most families walk for over 9 miles to the nearest water source which in most cases is shared with animals.
Our program for providing clean and safe water through the drilling of water wells and boreholes is a vital initiative aimed at enhancing community hygiene and combating waterborne diseases.
By strategically drilling wells and boreholes in underserved communities, the foundation ensures that people gain access to a reliable and sustainable sources of clean water.
This program not only improves the overall health and well-being of community members but also contributes to reducing waterborne diseases, such as cholera and dysentery,
which are often caused by contaminated water sources. The clean and safe water from these wells and boreholes significantly lowers the risk of disease transmission, leading to better health outcomes and a higher quality of life.
Divine Hearts Foundation works closely with local communities, engaging them in the process and educating them about proper water usage and sanitation practices.
This comprehensive approach helps create a lasting positive impact, fostering healthier living conditions and empowering communities to thrive. Through the provision of clean water, Divine Hearts Foundation is actively contributing to the betterment of society by addressing a fundamental need and improving public health. With a gift of $8124 we can drill and build a borehole which can provide clean and safe water to over 1000 families a day.
